We went out to the backwoods to visit a student on his farm. He showed us something his cousin brought back from a day in the forest. They call it a tigre. I think it's actually a jaguar or something.
Every night, as I come and go from my apartment, I can see all the geckos that live in the building. They really like my building. Last night, I counted fourteen on the porch. I only captured four in this picture. They don't like to hold still for photo shoots. By the way, geckos are not nearly as cute in person as they are on tv.
One day, Anna came running to tell me about the tarantula she had found. Although I am afraid of spiders, I got my camera out and got close enough to get a picture. Then I scurried away!
This little guy lives in the flower bed outside my house. Anna says he's poisonous. I don't remember what the name of it is.
A tribe (is that what you call them?) of monkeys lives down by the river. Every now and then, we go down to see them.
So there they are, some proof of the wild things I've seen down here. Real wild things, not just teenage boys.
